Description
The Old School, now divided into two dwellings, is likely from the 17th century with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from rubble limestone and features stone slate eaves courses beneath a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. A 19th-century wing extends to the rear left, with an angle filled by a range parallel to the front. The structure has large quoins and a near-central stone porch that includes a chamfered, quoined doorway with an arched lintel, set beneath an asymmetric gable with kneelers and copings.
To the right of the porch, there is a blocked doorway that is now obscured by the porch roof. Beyond this, each floor has a three-light mullioned window with casements and glazing bars in recessed, chamfered surrounds. The left-hand dwelling features a door with an overlight and a plain lintel next to the porch, along with a similar three-light window on each floor. There is also a former two-light window above the door, which has had its mullion removed. The building has plinths and oversailing courses leading to rendered brick end stacks, with a small ridge stack positioned above the porch.
