Description
John O'Gaunts is a stable with a granary that has been converted into a house, likely built in the early 18th century. The building is constructed from deeply-coursed, squared limestone and features a stone slate eaves course beneath a pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and has a door and two windows on the first floor. The large quoins are a notable feature.
To the right of the center, there is a round-arched door with bonded jambs and ashlar voussoirs, which has a 20th-century door set back within it. A square window to the right has a 20th-century casement within a square-faced surround and a deep lintel. External stone steps on the left lead up to a door in a cemented surround. The first-floor windows match those on the ground floor. The gable copings are square-cut.
On the right side, facing the road, there are three square openings. There is also a converted cartshed of a later date attached to the rear right, but this is not considered of special interest.
