Description

Farmhouse. Likely dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, with later additions from the mid to late 19th century and some 20th-century alterations. Constructed of granite and slate rubble, with the front face pebbledashed. It features a hipped, slurried scantle slate roof with ridge tiles, alongside side stacks with brick shafts. Some sections of the roof are covered in asbestos slate, with a hipped end and a rear stack with a brick shaft at the rear wing.

The original plan is of a double-depth layout, with a central entrance and principal rooms to the front left and right. At the rear is a kitchen, heated by a stack on the left side, alongside an unheated room to the rear right. A two-room rear wing was added in the mid-19th century to the right, including an unheated lean-to at the rear. Subsequently, a two-room range was added along the right side, featuring a front room heated by a stack and an unheated room at the rear.

The main facade is two storeys high and symmetrical, with a three-window arrangement. All windows are 19th-century 16-pane sashes. A central trellis porch in a Gothic style incorporates a 19th-century four-panelled inner door with an overlight featuring margin glazing. Set back to the right is a later 19th-century range with a hipped roof and a 16-pane sash window on both the ground and first floors; the left end is blind. The right side of this addition is distinguished by a large curved oven at the base of the stack, along with a four-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 16-pane sash window on the first floor to the right. Plank stable doors are on the rear of this range. The rear of the main range has a two-light six-pane casement window at ground floor and a 20th-century nine-pane light at first floor. A 20th-century hipped-roof porch is positioned in the angle with the mid-19th century rear wing. The rear wing has a 20th-century four-light casement window at ground floor and two 19th-century 12-pane sash windows of varying sizes at first floor. The rear of the wing features a single-story lean-to with a 20th-century two-light casement window. The outer side of the rear wing has a 16-pane sash window at ground and first floor to the left and a 20th-century two-light casement window at ground floor to the right, with a door leading into the lean-to.

The interior is not accessible.
