Description

This is a barn and adjoining cartshed located approximately 40 metres northwest of Rosemergy Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof with gable ends for the barn, while the cartshed has a corrugated iron roof. The barn has a small rectangular shape with a granary above the shippon. It is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical front on the north side, featuring a central doorway flanked by small windows. On the first floor, there is a window on the left and a partly blocked loading or winnowing doorway on the right, with a similar opening at the rear. To the right, there is the gable end of the former cartshed, which has a wide doorway that is partly blocked and weatherboarded above the lintel. The building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set within an ancient field system.
