Description
South Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 18th century, with its eaves raised in the 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof topped by a stone stack at the right-hand gable end. The building has a plan consisting of two rooms, with a larger kitchen on the left and a parlour on the right, likely separated by a lobby and stair. The exterior is two storeys high, with the west front displaying a symmetrical arrangement of two windows and a central doorway located towards the right. The doorway features a 20th-century top-glazed door, while the windows are late 19th-century four-pane horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected. South Cottage is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set within an ancient field system.
