Description
The engine house at Zennor, built around the mid-19th century, was originally used for a tin mine and is now a ruin. It was repaired as a ruin in 1984 for the National Trust. The structure is made of granite rubble, with brick used for the upper stage of the chimney. The engine house has a rectangular plan. The west wall, known as the bob wall, has been removed, while the opposite gable wall remains nearly intact and features window openings on each floor. The wing walls are partly collapsed, but the round chimney in the northeast corner stands at full height, complete with coved cornices at the collars. Additionally, two parallel walls still survive at the northeast corner.
