Description

ST LEVAN TRENGOTHAL SW 32 SE 7/244 Barn and adjoining cartshed grade III immediately north of Trengothal Farmhouse GV II Barn with adjoining cartshed possibly originally a horse-engine house. Circa early- mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs. half- hipped roof over barn, hipped roof over cartshed. Plan: Rectangular barn, probably a granary over stable with single storey cartshed on its right linked to deep square plan possibly former horse-engine house built forward on the far right. Altered possibly older building at right angles built forward at far left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Unaltered elevations except that some doorways are blocked or partly blocked. Fairly regular south west front. 4 ground floor doorways visible. First floor loading/winnowing doorway towards right. Cartshed has wide doorways at the front. Part of an unspoiled hamlet containing an interesting group of farmhouses and farm buildings all set in a beautiful rural landscape. Interior not inspected.
