Description
Halcyon Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with few later alterations. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with ridge tiles and a stack at the rear. The building has a one-room plan with an entrance at the front and a rear service outshut, which is likely integral. Each room is heated by back-to-back fireplaces.
The exterior is three storeys high and has one window. The ground and first floors feature a 16-pane sash window from the 19th century on the left, while the second floor has a 9-pane sash window from the same period. There is a 20th-century half-glazed door to the right, and all openings have segmental brick arches. The right side of the building has staggered single lights leading to the stair. The outshut has a blind wall on the right side and is two storeys tall. The interior is not accessible.
