Description
St Laurence is a house located on Church Street in Calstock, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of painted slatestone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends, which likely originally included a stack at the rear.
The house has a two-room layout, with one room at the front and another at the rear, both heated by a central stack that has back-to-back fireplaces. The entrance is located to the left through an open-ended passageway.
The exterior is three storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows. On the ground floor, there is an open-ended passage to the left and a 16-pane sash window to the right, both featuring brick segmental arches. The first floor has a 12-pane sash window to the left, a 16-pane sash window to the right with a small single light beside it, all with brick segmental arches. The second floor contains two 9-pane sash windows. Within the passage on the left side, there is a 20th-century door and a single light window leading to the front room, along with another 20th-century door to the rear room. The interior has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century.
