Description

Southfleet House is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of stone rubble, originally with a stucco front that has been removed, with red brick dressings. A stone rubble stack and chimneyshaft with old pots are at the right end, and the roof is slate-covered.

The house has a double-depth plan, a single room wide and two rooms deep. The front has three windows across each floor. The ground and first floors feature 12-pane sash windows, while the second floor has replacement horned 4-pane sashes, all set within low segmental brick arches. A round-headed doorway provides access to a fielded 8-panel door, topped with a plain fanlight. The roof has plain eaves, rising to parallel gable ends. The exposed right-hand wall shows two blocked windows. The interior was not inspected but is considered likely to contain features of interest.
