Description
No. 3 Ridge Hill is a small house built in the mid-19th century and modernised around 1980. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble and features end stacks with exposed and plastered brick chimney shafts topped with pots, along with a slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan and is two rooms wide.
The exterior is two storeys high with a two-window range. The front is roughcast with flat pilasters at each end. The main doorway is located to the left of centre; it has had its stucco surround removed and features a recessed entrance with a likely replacement four-panel door and a plain overlight above. To the left of the doorway, there is a ground-floor window set in a plain shallow bay. All windows are 12-pane sashes. The roof has plain eaves and is gable-ended to the left, as it steps up the hill.
The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest. This house is part of a group of small houses and listed buildings located at the bottom of Ridge Hill.
