Description

The chimney at Gooninnis Mine, located in St Agnes, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It served the former whim house of the mine. The lower stage is constructed from killas and granite rubble, while the upper stage is made of brick. This upper section features a stepped collar, a stepped cornice, and brick battlements. The chimney is round in plan and has a tapered shaft. It is an important landmark in an unspoiled coastal valley.
