Description

The mine chimney, part of Killifreth Mine, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of killas and granite, with a brick upper stage. The chimney is round in shape and tapers towards the top, featuring a corbelled brick collar and cornice. This structure is associated with the expansion of Killifreth Mine and Great Wheal Busy, which began in 1865.
