Description

Number 20 is one of a pair of houses dating to the early 19th century. The construction is of coursed rubble, with shallow granite-keyed brick arches, and it has an asbestos slate roof and brick end stacks. The house follows a single-depth plan and presents a symmetrical three-window facade. It retains its original 12-pane sash windows. A central doorway is distinguished by pilasters and an elliptical arch, and contains an original 6-panel door. The interior was not inspected, but is likely to be largely unaltered. The forecourt includes an original wrought-iron gate set within iron piers topped with turned finials, flanked by low rendered walls, representing a fine example of its type.
