Description
No. 4 Kimberley Place is a house located at the end of a row, built in the early 19th century, with a late 18th-century wing at the rear. The exterior is constructed of killas rubble and features flat brick arches, an asbestos slate roof that is hipped on the right, brick end stacks, and a cast-iron ogee gutter. The house has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. It retains original 16-pane hornless sash windows and has a central doorway that is pilastered, with coved brackets, a moulded entablature, and a deep hood above a six-panel door.
Inside, the house is said to retain many original features of interest, including a staircase, a curved-on-plan door to the front room, panelled doors in moulded doorcases with corner blocks and roundels, and a sideboard recess in the front room.
