Description

Sunnymede is a house located on Under Road in Gunnislake, likely built in the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later additions from the 18th century and alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with the front painted and partly rendered. It features a slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, along with gable end stacks that have rubble shafts.

The layout consists of a two-room plan with a central entrance, where each room is heated by a gable end stack. In the late 18th century, a single-storey outshut was added to the rear, creating a two-room service range, with each room also heated from a stack on the outer side. A 20th-century porch has been added to the front, along with a lean-to on the right side.

The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has two-light casements on the right and left, and a 19th-century four-pane sash window in the centre. The ground floor features a central 20th-century lean-to porch with a plain inner door, and two-light casements on either side. The left side is rendered and has a four-pane light at ground floor to the right. There is a 20th-century light in the outshut. The right side includes a single-storey lean-to with two doors. At the rear, the outshut has a catslide roof that aligns with the main range, featuring two 20th-century windows at ground floor and a small single-storey addition to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
