Description

ALTARNUN ALTARNUN SX 28 SW 4/60 Penpont House - GV II

House. Probably early C19, possibly on earlier site. Stone rubble. Slate roof with hipped ends with gable end to lower range on right. Rendered end stacks. Plan: Front range of two room and cross passage plan with integral one-room plan service wing to rear right forming an overall 'L' shaped plan. Each of the rooms are heated by end stacks. Circa early C19 service outshut to rear of left hand room with further C20 extension to rear. Circa early to mid C19 one-room plan service wing on right hand end, heated by end stack. Exterior: Two storeys. Symmetrical 3 window front with brick surrounds and segmental arches to window openings. Central C19 6-panel door with fanlight flanked by two C19 16-pane sashes. Three similar sashes above. To right, lower range with single storey lean-to across front. Interior: Ground floor partitions in front range removed. C19 Delabole slate chimney-piece in left hand room. C19 stair to rear of passage.
