Description

Menadue is a house that possibly dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of slate stone rubble, rendered and painted on the front elevation, with slate hanging on the right-hand gable end. The roof is slate with gable ends and granite end stacks that have moulded caps. At the rear, there are lower two-storey service wings; the left wing has a gable end, while the right wing has a hipped end and a rendered brick stack.

The front range has a two-room plan with an entrance and cross passage located to the left of center. There are two reception rooms, with the larger room on the right, both heated by gable end stacks. A 19th-century staircase is located at the rear of the cross passage, accommodated in a lean-to outshot, and is flanked by two low two-storey service wings, each with a one-room plan. The right-hand wing is likely the kitchen, heated by a lateral stack.

The house is two storeys tall and features a regular three-window front with the windows arranged towards the left and the entrance to the left of center. There are two early 19th-century 20-pane hornless sash windows flanking a 20th-century glazed, rendered lean-to porch that has a part-glazed 20th-century door. On the first floor, there are three early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows. At the rear, the two low two-storey service wings are connected by a lean-to outshot. The interior has not been inspected.
