Description
Seawinds is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of slate stone rubble, with some machine-cut slate stone on the front left. The roof is slate, featuring gable ends and stone rubble end stacks, with the left-hand stack having a cloam oven projection and the shaft removed.
The original layout of the house is uncertain, but it likely started as a one-room plan, indicated by a straight joint near the center of the front and rear elevations. It was later extended to create a two-room plan, with the entrance located on the far right of the front. Both rooms are heated by gable end stacks, with the left-hand stack also featuring a cloam oven projection.
The house has two storeys and an asymmetrical two-window front, with dressed stone arches above the openings. The entrance is on the right side, with a straight joint near the center and a wall rebuilt with machine-cut slate stones to the left. The ground floor includes a 20th-century casement and a 19th-century two-light casement, while the first floor has a four-pane sash in a half dormer with a raking roof and a 19th-century two-light casement.
The front and rear elevations remain unaltered. Seawinds is part of a group with Tredavid.
