Description

House. Built in the early to mid-19th century, with later 19th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. The walls are painted stone rubble, and the roof is covered with asbestos slate tiles, including ridge tiles and gable ends. There is a gable end stack on the right side and an axial stack on the left, with rendered shafts.

Originally, the house had a two-room plan with a central entrance, and each room was heated by a gable end stack. Later in the 19th century, a single-room addition was built to the left end, which caused the original gable end stack to become an axial stack. This addition has a direct entrance into the room.

The exterior is two stories high, with an asymmetrical three-window front. The first floor has three 16-pane sash windows with cambered heads; the window on the left has a timber lintel. On the ground floor, the three bays to the right have a central 20th-century glazed door and 16-pane sash windows on either side, each with a flat brick arch. The bay to the left has a 16-pane sash window with a cambered brick arch and a 20th-century glazed door. The left side of the building is blank. The interior of the house has not been inspected. A late 20th-century hipped wing is located at the back left, and a flat-roofed garage is at the left gable end; these are not considered to be of special interest.
