Description

The White Lion Hotel is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Penzance Green Market. It is constructed of painted brick with granite quions and features a slate roof with a moulded eaves board. The hotel stands three storeys tall and has two windows; the left-hand window is set back over a ground floor carriageway and consists of sashes in moulded architraves without glazing bars, while the right side has two-light sashes. The entrance doorway is semi-circular arched with a keyblock, flat pilasters, and an entablature that includes a panel above featuring a white lion. The hotel is included in a group listing with Nos 3 to 7 (consecutive) and Nos 1 to 3 (consecutive) on Alverton Street.
