Description
Buriton House is an early 19th-century building located on Alverton Street in Penzance. It features a stucco exterior with a granite plinth, a single string course, and granite quions. The roof is slate and hipped, with eaves soffits. The house has two storeys and a semi-basement. The west elevation has three windows, with the centre window blocked and the ground floor set in slight recesses. The north elevation facing the street has two windows and a doorway to the left, which has a round arch with an inner arch featuring a sunburst motif, along with stone steps and iron railings. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The east elevation includes a slate-hung circular stair bay. Inside, the rooms are adorned with dentilled and beaded cornices, window shutters that have panels with sunburst motifs, and reeded architraves around the doorways and windows, as well as a staircase.
