Description
The headstone of Francis Mably, dating from 1795, is located 0.25 metres south of the south transept of the Church of St. Michael. It commemorates Francis, the son of William and Elizabeth Mably, who died at the age of two. The headstone is made of slate and features a rectangular shape with inscriptions in upper and lower case serif lettering. Above the text are three angel heads, and below is a simple floral trail. The inscription includes the verse: "I was a Flourishing Young Plant Mourn not for me I Pray For it was God's appointed time To Take my life away."
