Description
47 and 49 Meneage Street is a town house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. The front is rendered on rubble and features a dry slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with a two-window range. On the right, there is a mid-19th century four-pane horizontal-sliding sash window, while the left side has a late 19th century four-pane horned sash window, both set within plain architraves. The ground floor includes a mid-19th century shop front on the left, which has a moulded entablature with a fascia above a canted 10-pane shop window, noted as a significant example. To the right of the shop front, there is a three-panel door, followed by an adjoining four-panel door and an eight-pane light. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
