Town house. Mid C18. Coursed faced rubble with flat keyed granite arches; steep dry slate roof with brick end stacks. Shallow double-depth plan. 2 storeys over basement; symmetrical 3-window front. C20 copy 16-pane hornless sashes; central triangular pedimented and eared doorway with consoles; panelled reveals and 6-panel door, approached by flight of granite steps; 12-pane, 2-light basement windows and low basement doorway at far right with original stuck beaded frame and C20 door. Rear has small window openings with C20 copy windows including 16-pane stair sash to weatherboarded central bay; original ledged door. INTERIOR: C18 open-well closed-string staircase with column-turned balusters and moulded pendants; 2-panel doors; dresser to left-hand room of basement and original pegged roof structure. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron railings on granite plinth. One of a good row of houses stepped down the hill in New Street.
