Description

No. 24 is a small town house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-17th century but was partially rebuilt and re-fronted in the mid-18th century, extended in the 19th century, and altered in the 20th century. The exterior is rendered with incised lines and painted, featuring an old tile gabled roof. The building has a two-cell T-plan with a stair turret at the rear, standing two storeys tall with attics.

Notable architectural features include a moulded and bracketed wooden cornice, two flanking chimneys, and three flat lead roof dormers with two-light casements and glazing bars facing north. The symmetrical front has three bays with flanking angular bays that extend the full height. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a plain rectangular fanlight, set within a doorcase of panelled pilasters and a flat moulded hood supported by cut brackets, with a frieze above. There is also a scraper on the right side of the entrance.

Inside, there is a 17th-century framed newel stair with winders, turned balusters, and a moulded handrail that rises to the attic floor. Iron railings are positioned on either side of the entrance door in front of a small terrace, returning on each side against No. 24.
