Description
No. 22 Broad Street is a small town house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century and alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features an old tile gabled roof. It has a double depth plan and stands two storeys tall. There is one chimney on the left side and another on the rear right-hand slope of the roof. A stucco string runs along the first floor cill level, and the building has a parapet with stone coping. The front is symmetrical with three bays and includes sash windows with glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door divided into two leaves, flanked by flush side panels with reeded edges, set in an arched recess. This is topped with a wide door frame supported by reeded pilasters and features a delicate reeded doorhead. An arched radiating fanlight is above the door, and there are two scrapers at the entrance. Inside, there is a plain staircase with stick balusters.
