Description
The Gatehouse is a house that has been converted into offices, originally built in the 18th century and altered and extended in the 19th century, as well as in the mid and late 20th century. The exterior features painted render and a hipped tiled roof. The building is three storeys high and has flanking chimneys. The windows are 20th-century sash windows with glazing bars, with two located on the second floor.
On the first floor, there is a central angular bay with a concave lead roof and a plain apron. The entrance consists of a half-glazed door set in a panelled reveal, framed by a doorcase with pilasters, cut scroll brackets, and a flat hood. To the right of the door, there is a large 20th-century window with glazing bars. There is also a one-bay extension on the right side, which features a three-centred arched stable entry and a similar angular bay window above, although this upper bay does not have a lead roof. This extension has a low pitch slate roof that is shared with No. 25, which is not listed. The Gatehouse is included in the register for its group value.
