Description
Nos. 1 and 2 New Street are late 18th-century town houses that have been converted into two separate homes. They feature granite rubble walls and a steep dry slate roof that slopes down at the rear. The buildings have brick end stacks and cast-iron ogee gutters. The layout is a shallow double-depth plan with two storeys and a symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has modern three-light casements with glazing bars, while the ground floor features modern six-pane horned sash windows. The central doorway is flanked by a pair of modern two-panel doors. These houses are part of a notable row of 18th-century homes that step down the hill along New Street. The interior has not been inspected.
