Description

5 and 7 New Street are a pair of late 18th-century town houses in Penryn. They are constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, and have a steep asbestos slate roof, with scantle slate to part of the rear wing. Brick stacks rise from the ends and just behind the ridge. The houses have a shallow-depth plan with a short wing to the rear left.

The symmetrical front has two storeys and three windows. The windows are late 19th-century sashes with glazing bars, except for a 4-pane sash on the first floor to the right, and the central doorway, which retains its original 6-panel door. The houses form part of a well-preserved row of 18th-century properties that step down the hill along New Street. The interior has not been inspected.
