SW 72 NE MANACCAN

5/67 Tregonwell Mill - GV II

Miller's house. C18. Painted stone rubble and cob walls, slate sills, chamfered wooden lintels and scantle slate roof with brick chimney over gable end left and party wall right of middle. Overall T-shaped plan of 3 rooms plus outshut: kitchen left with large fireplace; parlour middle; unheated service room at slightly lower level, right, plus integral pantry outshut (now containing stair behind parlour). 2 storeys. Overall 4-window south-west front of slightly irregular 2-window house left and C20 rebuilt front of service end, right. The house front has wide central doorway with top-glazed ledged door, slated hood over and wide window openings spanned by oak lintels of reused ships timbers with treenails. Old ledged door to doorway on left hand side of service end 2-light casements with glazing bars except 3-light casement at rear of outshut. Interior has original roughly-chamfered cross beams, large hearth and niches of blocked windows in rear wall of left-hand room and 2-panel door into right-hand room from outshut. First floor and roof not inspected.
