Description
The Village Well is a well head and railings dating from the early 19th century, with restorations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of shale rubble with some dressed granite and features wrought iron railings. The structure has a square pyramidal head and a pump set in a niche on the northeast side. Surrounding the sump to the southeast is a set of railings with a gate, which are mounted on a granite border. The railings are designed with arrow-head bars and include two urn finials, one positioned over a corner post and the other over one of the gate posts.
