Description
Millingworth Mill House is a house, likely dating to the early 18th century, originally a miller's house. It is constructed of slate rubble, painted at the front, with the first floor front rendered. The roof is slate, with gabled ends. Red brick gable end stacks are present, along with a red brick stack over the outshut on the left side.
The house has a double-depth plan, with two principal front rooms heated by gable end stacks and a central entrance passage. Shallow back rooms are incorporated within an integral outshut, the left-hand room serving as the kitchen. An adjoining derelict mill, with the exception of its left-hand end which has been incorporated into the house, sits to the right.
The south front is symmetrical, featuring three windows. The first floor has three small windows with slate sills and 20th-century 2-light 12-pane casements. The ground floor has two larger 20th-century casements without glazing bars. A central doorway has a 20th-century plank door. The rear has lower eaves over the integral outshut, which includes a central doorway. To the right, the two-storey, one-window left-hand end of the roofless mill has been incorporated into the house, featuring a 20th-century plank door and casement on each floor.
During a 1987 survey, the interior was inaccessible, but the right-hand front room contains a chamfered timber fireplace lintel.
