Description
No. 2 Cannon Hill is a town house built in 1862. It features slate hanging on masonry with stucco quoin strips and has a rag slate roof, which includes a central gabled roof dormer and a brick end stack on the left side. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic over a basement, with a two-window range. The original first-floor windows are 4-pane hornless sashes, while the left-hand window below has a horned copy and the basement features a small 6-pane casement. The entrance is accessed by a flight of steps on the right, leading to a 5-panel top glazed door with a rectangular overlight. The quoin strips alternate between plain and vermiculated, rising to a moulded stucco eaves cornice. This house is the end unit of a contemporary row and is a complete dated example. The interior has not been inspected.
