Description

This is an 18th-century town house located on Church Street, Liskeard. The front is of painted rubble construction, with a steep, dry Delabole slate roof. The house has a deep plan, including a wing set at a right angle to the rear. It is two storeys high and has a two-window front. The first floor has late 19th-century four-pane sash windows with timber lintels. The ground floor on the left also features a four-pane sash window, similarly treated. A continuous timber lintel covers a central doorway, which has a four-panel door set within a moulded wooden architrave. A mid-19th century shop front is present, incorporating a canted four-pane shop window with two-pane sidelights, and a fascia with a moulded entablature that also forms a shallow porch to a top-glazed door on the right. At the far right, projecting rusticated stucco quoins indicate a former, earlier house. The interior remains unexamined.
