Description
Nos. 13 and 15 Church Street are a pair of houses that were later converted into shops. They date from the 18th century and were refronted and converted to shops in the early 19th century. The front is rendered on studwork, while the rest of the building is made of rubble. The left side (No. 15) has a steep grouted rag slate roof, which has been replaced with asbestos slate on the right side. The building features wide eaves at the front and an outshut at the rear. It has a deep plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range.
The late 19th-century shopfront includes paired pointed-arched lights set within moulded architraves, with roundels on plinths above a reduced shop front on the left, which has a central late 19th-century four-pane sash window. The right side features an early 19th-century 24-pane bowed shop front. There are also a pair of doorways between the shop fronts, with a 6-panel door; one doorway has a 4-panel door towards the right, and there is a 20th-century door at the far right. The interior has not been inspected.
