Description

The Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located in Chapel Row, off Coinagehall Street, Helston. It is constructed of pink Elvan ashlar on the front, with a dressed granite plinth, quoins, jambs, and lintel course, and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The cottage follows a narrow double-depth plan. It is two storeys high and has a one-window front. It features original 16-pane hornless sash windows in the centre, and an original six-pane door with later glazing added to the top panels. The interior was not inspected but is likely to remain largely unaltered. It is a rare, nearly unaltered small early 19th-century cottage, contributing significant group value to the centre of Helston.
