Description

The Forge is an 18th-century cottage situated at the junction of Main Street and Chapel Street in Wigginton. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a thatched roof and a brick stack at the right end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and comprises a single storey plus attic. A 20th-century door is located to the left and is topped with a wooden lintel. To the right of the door is a three-light casement window with a wooden lintel, and two further three-light casements are visible in the attic. The main entrance is at the right end. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected. The Forge occupies an important site at the junction of Main Street and Chapel Street.
