Description

Pump Cottage is a building that was originally two cottages, now combined into one house. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. The left side is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble, while the right side features limestone banded with ironstone. The roof is made of plain tiles and there are two brick stacks located at the left end and along the ridge. The building has a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. It has a three-window range, with an off-centre door on the left that has a post-war porch, flanked by two 2-light casement windows. On the first floor, there are three 20th-century casement windows. The interior has not been inspected. Pump Cottage is situated on an important corner site and is included for its group value.
