Description

Home Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse situated on the south side of Main Street, Wigginton. The building is constructed from regular coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof, and features three brick stacks on stone bases, positioned at the ends of the building and along the ridge. It has a three-unit plan and a three-window front. An off-centre entrance, located to the right, has a panelled door with two glazed panels, set within a plain wooden surround, and is sheltered by a rustic 20th-century porch. A three-light mullioned and transomed window to the right is topped with a keystoned flat arch. To the left are two similar windows, one with three lights and the other with two. The first floor has two two-light and one three-light windows with wooden lintels, and a three-light casement window to the right. Stone copings are present, and the corners are highlighted by ironstone quoins. Above the entrance door is a guardian fire plaque. The interior of the farmhouse has not been inspected.
