Description

The brewhouse at the rear of The Blue Anchor Inn is an early 19th-century structure. It features granite rubble walls with granite dressings and an asbestos slate hipped roof, along with a brick axial stack. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high. The front end includes a doorway on the ground floor to the right and a loading doorway on the first floor to the left of centre, which is accessed by a straight flight of granite steps. The doors are old and ledged. Inside, the brewhouse retains its original floors and roof structure, making it an interesting example of a small urban brewhouse.
