Description
This small town house, which has a later shop, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of elvan, classified as greenstone, with granite dressings. Notable features include a flat arch over the first-floor opening and a steep grouted scantle slate roof, which has a central slate-hung roof dormer with a 20th-century window. There is a brick stack on the left side of the building. The house has a deep plan that includes a rear wing and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a one-window range. The nearly central mid-19th century 12-pane horned sash window is positioned above a full-width early 20th-century transomed and canted shop front, which has a doorway on the right featuring a glazed door and a round-arched overlight. The interior has not been inspected.
