Description
This is an early to mid-19th century town house located on Coinagehall Street in Helston. It is constructed of granite ashlar with a plinth, and has a scantle slate roof covered with a moulded eaves cornice, brick end stacks and cast-iron ogee gutters. The building follows a double-depth plan with a wing extending at a right angle to the rear right.
The house presents an asymmetrical three-window facade across three storeys. The windows are primarily late-19th century four-pane horned sashes, topped by granite lintels. A late-19th century canted oriel window, featuring pilasters, a moulded cornice and horned sashes, is located in the centre of the first floor. A tall, narrow doorway is situated on the right-hand side, accessed by three granite steps, and features an overlight and a six-panel door. The doorway has a plain overlight.
The interior remains largely uninspected, though ground floor panelled window shutters are present. The interior is likely to be of interest.
