Description
This listing describes a row of three cottages and one house, built in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from killas and granite rubble, featuring granite dressings such as lintels. No. 1, located on the right, has some brick on the ground floor and roughcast render above, while Nos. 5 and 7 have slurried scantle slate roofs, and the roof of No. 1 is at right angles to the street. The buildings have brick end stacks and a double-depth plan, standing two storeys high with an overall five-window range.
No. 1 features an original central pointed-arched hornless sash window with intersecting glazing bars on the first floor to the left, and a late 19th-century V-jointed door on the right. No. 3 has late 19th-century two-pane horned sash windows and a door on the right. No. 5 mirrors the front of No. 3 but has 20th-century windows and a door. No. 7 has a symmetrical two-window front with late 19th-century two-pane horned sash windows and a door.
The property includes a low forecourt wall in front of No. 5, topped with original wrought-iron railings that feature turned finials on the stanchions and arrow-head finials on the bars. The interior has not been inspected.
