Description
This house, located immediately east of the Old Rectory, was built in the mid-19th century and has seen few later alterations. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The gable end stacks have granite shafts and cornices, while the rear wash-house has a tall gable end stack with a brick shaft.
The house has a double depth plan, with a central entrance and principal rooms of equal size on the front left and right. There are shallow rear service rooms and a single-storey wash-house to the rear left, which is heated by a gable end stack.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. All windows are 19th-century two-light casements with margin glazing, cambered arches, and keystones. The central entrance features a 19th-century four-panelled door with an overlight and a cambered arch with a keystone. A cill string course runs along the first floor. The left side of the house has a central single light and a similar two-light casement to the left at ground floor level. The wash-house on the left includes a three-light casement and a plank door. The interior has not been inspected.
