Description
This house, located northeast of Waterlow House and owned by Nicholls, dates from the mid-19th century and has seen few later alterations. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a hipped slate roof, with granite stacks on the sides that have cornices.
The building has a double depth plan, with the main rooms situated at the front right and left, and a stair hall at the rear center, while shallower service rooms are located at the back. The exterior is two stories high and has a symmetrical three-window front with a band course. All windows are four-pane sashes, although the central window on the first floor is blind. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a cornice, flanked by wooden pilasters and panelled reveals.
On the left side, there is a plate-glass sash window on the first floor, and a small single-storey lean-to with a half-glazed door that has margin glazing. At the rear, a central round-arched stair light is present, with splayed glazing bars in the arch's head, along with small single-storey lean-tos on both the right and left sides. The interior has not been inspected.
