Description
Tregassa Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1763, as indicated by the datestone above the front door. It features slatestone rubble walls and a hipped asbestos slate roof that slopes slightly lower at the rear, with brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a double depth plan, with a central rear wing that may be part of an earlier house, and lean-tos in the angles. It stands two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front facing south. The central doorway is flanked by a pair of 20th-century top-glazed doors and is framed by a simple wooden doorcase with a cornice. The windows are 16-pane sashes in their original openings, with shallow brick arches above. The ground floor windows are taller than those above. There are additional old small-paned sashes on the side and rear, as well as an old 12-pane two-light casement window on the ground floor to the east of the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
