Description

Victoria Terrace is a house in a terrace with a garden wall at the front, dating from the early 19th century. It features slatestone rubble walls and a scantle slate roof that slopes down towards the rear, with brick chimneys positioned over the party walls. The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical, three-window façade facing north towards the road. The central doorway is framed by an original simple wooden porch supported by round columns, and it contains an original four-panel door that is now top-glazed. Above the doorway is a narrow eight-pane sash window that replaces a half-dome headed statue niche. The other windows are original hornless twelve-pane sashes set in their original openings, complete with wooden lintels and slate sills. The house is also equipped with an ogee cast iron gutter. The interior has not been inspected. The painted rubble garden wall at the front has a rubble gate and end piers, which rise to a higher level and are topped with pineapple-shaped finials.
