Description
Tregongon Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 19th century. It features a front made of coursed slatestone rubble, with rubble on the sides and rear. The roof is made of scantle slate and has a hipped design, with brick chimneys positioned over the side walls. The building has a double depth plan, consisting of two front rooms, an original hipped wing, and an outshut in the angle that was heightened in the 20th century, now with a hipped roof parallel to the main roof. There is a 19th-century lean-to at the north-west end. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window front facing south-west. The original doorway, slightly left of centre, features a 16-pane sash window. The other windows are similar, except for the first-floor window on the left, which has a 4-pane sash. Cambered arches with slatestone voussoirs are present over the openings. To the left of the entrance door is a small lean-to that encloses a large external stack. The interior has not been inspected but is said to contain three bread ovens.
