Description
Baruppa Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and features a scantle slate roof with rendered chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a double depth plan, which is an interesting early example of this layout. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window front. The door is centrally located on the ground floor, while the window above it is off centre to the right. Cambered brick arches are present over the ground floor openings, and smaller first floor windows have timber lintels. All windows are four-pane wooden sashes. The wide eaves are supported by shaped wooden brackets, and there is an external stack on the left side. The rear integral outshut has been raised, likely in the early 19th century, to create an upper floor, although it originally swept down to the ground floor lintels. On the rear wall of the outshut, an old 20-pane wooden sash and a 16-pane, two-light wooden casement window remain.
